How To Install Ubuntu On Windows

The full class of WSL is Windows Subsystem for Linux. It is a characteristic of Windows 10 that lets you lot install and run a total-fledged Linux environment on Windows 10. Windows did non use any virtualization technique here. Instead, Microsoft built a mode (WSL) to run Linux binaries on Windows. So, it's fast and does not crave much retentivity to run. Enabling WSL:

At present, click on Restart now. Windows x should reboot.

Installing and Configuring Ubuntu on Windows 10 WSL:

Once your computer starts, open up Microsoft Store from the Commencement card as shown in the screenshot below.

Now, search for ubuntu. Equally y'all can come across in the screenshot below, you tin install Ubuntu xvi.04 LTS or Ubuntu 18.04 LTS at the time of this writing.

I decided to install Ubuntu 16.04 LTS in this article. So, I clicked on it. At present, click on Become as marked in the screenshot beneath to install Ubuntu.

After a while, Ubuntu should be installed.

At present, start Ubuntu from the Start menu equally shown in the screenshot beneath.
